SAGL's website was outdated and staff struggled to make changes to their own site. Bydrae undertook the the task of retaining all existing information but giving their website a fresh new look. Due to the immense size of the website and multiple pages, we focused on improved user experience so that navigation and content flow were clear and obvious to website visitors.
To address the difficulties that SAGL had experienced with editing their website the past, we developed on WordPress and set up the CMS for ease of use. Bydrae provided training to relevant staff and management to show them how to upload their own industry reports, edit content and images, and how to publish blogs as and when they need to.
This website features a conditional logic form for analysis quotation requests. Their old form was digitised and placed on the website to shortcut paper-based form filling.
We developed an interactive map of South Africa to display the various grain product regions.
SAGL publishes grain crop reports on a regular basis and uploads these reports as links for PDFs. We enhanced these reports by developing an interactive flip-book style where reports can also be viewed.
Lastly, we encouraged SAGL to start publishing blog articles. We developed a blog page with a homepage feed of new articles. We added an automatic posting system to post to social media as soon as new blogs were published.
Bydrae provides monthly maintenance of the website.
Bydrae provided the domain name and will soon be migrating the website hosting to premium hosting. This improved hosting will accommodate the large size of the website and will greatly improve page load speeds, especially for PDF reports. An added benefit is the improved security provided with this hosting.
